Julia Fiona Roberts, born 28th October 1967 in Atlanta with Betty Lou Bredemus & Walter Grady Roberts. Roberts is part of four generations of the Robertses who live in the Atlanta region, beginning with her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts a farmer. In the early years, her father was interested in theatre. As a student at Emory University in 1952 he performed in shows on campus as well as in other parts of Atlanta. He joined the air force in 1953. While working in Biloxi Mississippi, was a part of a military production that included Betty Lou Bredemus who was as well in the air force. In 1955, the couple got married and then in 1956 their child Eric Anthony was born. In 1957, the couple left the military and Walter enrolled at Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana. In 1960, the family relocated in Decatur Georgia where Walter began working with Atlanta's Academy Theater and the Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. Walter along with Betty Lou started production in 1964 on the local children's Saturday morning television show Bum Bum and His Buddies and their Buddies, which they themselves funded. The following year they started The Actors and Writers Workshop which was in operation for six years. They were joined by Lelisa Billingsley (also called Lisa) and Julia (also named Julie) at the time.
