Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
I spent months working 12 hour days sanding floors and taking wallpaper down with the baby on my back and the others playing in the playpen. Ha! The home was starting to look good, but there were a few things that needed to be left. For furnishing the space, it was going to be a huge effort both in both time and funds. I would also have to go out and shop for my most-loved items. To stay the cost within my means I took my sons along to search for hidden treasures at estate sales. Every week, we would stroll through garage and estate sales on Fridays and Saturdays buying a mixture of old and new pieces. Then I would spend my weekdays painting and sanding outside in our driveway. It was a bit like this... This is when my interest in the restoration of furniture first began. Even though our home was furnished, I could not quit. There was a market in the area to let me sell my pieces. In the end, I was stuffed with too numerous pieces of furniture to fit into the space available. More than 1000 people came to my home in just one weekend to purchase everything on the ground floor. Growing Days was created in this home. Not only was my business flourishing, but I was also growing our family of four. There was a perfect balance between the start of a company as well as being a mom. Growing Days seemed like the best combination. Nora was born in 2013 to be our fourth baby. My business was going well but I was in need of a break. I took some time away from vintage furniture to spend more quality time with my children. At the time, it was what I wanted. But after a couple of months after that, the phone began to call. I was getting calls from people asking me for assistance with home improvements and interior design. A majority of these were those who had walked through my home during the open houses for furniture! In the following months, I began to take on clients in my own way. In the end, I had many clients, and had as a home improvement business. It would have probably amused me if you told me it would be the foundation of a DIY Network tv series. If I think back, it makes me laugh.
